Nor do I offer up my apologies for how I have spent my life. Lucindas books are easy to read, which i sometimes find hard in other books written in the same era. But how can she trust a man so steeped in the culture of high society, who conceals so much?
She satur an eyeful and refuses to leave. I couldn’t forget it, however and couldn’t help comparing and contrasting it unfavorably with These Old Shades while reading.
What I will say is that the moments usually are involving the Duke and Antonia, and one scene in particular involves a beloved pet. I know that there are many people who are raving about this book. Should you wish to read each series in chronological order, here is the sequence: The romance between the central couple is well developed and very sensual, and in spite of the age gap between them, there is no doubt that Roxton and Antonia are soul-mates.
